How Many Lessons Should I Book?
At City Slopes, we know every skier and snowboarder learns at their own pace. That’s why we offer flexible 3, 5, and 10-lesson packages to support you at any stage of your journey. Whether you’re brand new, building confidence, or polishing advanced skills, we’ll help you choose the package that fits your goals. This quick guide will walk you through what to expect so you can get the most out of your time on the slope: comfortable, confident, and ready for real-snow adventures!
Skiing vs. Snowboarding
Most people find that skiing clicks a little faster than snowboarding. Skiers often see solid progress within 3–5 lessons, thanks to a more natural stance and independent leg control. Snowboarding, on the other hand, asks you to move both feet as one unit, so it can take a bit more time—usually 5–10 lessons—to feel steady and confident. Both sports are absolutely learnable; they just build skills in different ways.
Adults Vs. Children
Children are usually eager learners, but they often need a few more lessons than adults. Factors like attention span, strength, and developing coordination all play a role in how quickly they pick up new skills. Our instructors know how to keep lessons fun, supportive, and paced just right. This ensures every young athlete learns in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
Taking Your Indoor Skills to Real Snow
Our indoor ski slopes are intentionally built with a bit more challenge than real-snow terrain. That extra difficulty helps you strengthen your balance, control, and technique, so when you head outside, everything feels easier. If you can handle our indoor slope, the real mountain will feel like a smooth, confident ride.
